$50,000 Grant Moves Owensboro Closer to Greenbelt Extension

Owensboro's Greenbelt, which wraps around our fair city and may SEEM like a finished picture, is now much closer to being extended.

The design for the trail's extension has already been laid out, but money for the project hasn't been there..

But now, according to 14News-WFIE's Shaelie Clark, the city has received a $50,000 grant as part of a statewide recreational trails program.

Owensboro will apply for more grants in order to fully fund the extension.
