For the last eight years, Leslye A. Scott has been raising money and working toward bringing the Christmas Box Angel Statue to Owensboro.

She spoke with 14News/WFIE and described her nearly-quarter-century-long journey, which began in 1994 with a miscarriage.

Inspired after seeking comfort reading Richard Paul Evans' holiday classic The Christmas Box, Leslye set out to bring an angel statue to Owensboro.

There are only three such statues in Kentucky, and one of them is now in Memorial Gardens, where it was dedicated Thursday evening.

So many thanks to Leslye and all who made this statue's arrival in our city possible. And here's to many, many more years of inspiration and comfort that this incredible tribute will provide.
