Paddy O'Beach, presented by Wright Implement, is the most OUTRAGEOUS St. Patrick's Day party of them all. And it happens Saturday night at the Owensboro Convention Center!

Get your tickets here or you can purchase them at the door the night of the party!

Speaking of outrageous, I'll never forget my reaction the first time I ever saw a music video. MTV came into being in August of 1981 and I didn't even hear of it until a year later when it began popping up on our basic cable.

By the way, in 1982, basic cable meant a "whopping" 13 channels. And, yes, it felt like 1300.

But there was MTV on one of those channels, and I couldn't get enough. When I'd get home from school and got my homework finished, I'd watch videos until Dad got home and I had to relinquish the TV.

The first time I ever saw MTV, and consequently a music video, it was "Shock the Monkey" by Peter Gabriel. And I turned it on right when Gabriel--all done up in freak show kabuki-type make-up--was lurching toward the camera, right about at the 1:08 mark.

Yeah, at the time, it was pretty outrageous:

Having never seen a music video before, that was pretty "shocking" but, yeah, incredible tame by today's standards.

I hope Max Headroom can dig this one out. If so, you'll see me transform into a 16-year-old all over again.
