When the Motor Racing Network begins its 2016 Nascar coverage in just a few weeks, one familiar voice will be missing. Barney Hall, who was MRN's anchor for 45 years, passed away last Tuesday at the age of 83.

Hall started his career in radio in the 1950s in his native North Carolina. He became a public address announcer at Bristol Motor Speedway and by chance he was brought on board when MRN began broadcasting races in 1970. His final broadcast was the Coke Zero 400 in 2014.
