Alright, everybody, let's synchronize our watches...AND our cruise controls. We have received the official word from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet about the speed limit on the bypass.

Beginning Thursday at 9AM, road crews will replace the 55 MPH signs with 65 MPH signs and a whole new faster era of travel on the Owensboro Bypass/Wendell Ford Expressway will begin.

According to Keith Todd with the Cabinet, the change will affect the stretch of bypass between milepoint 10.18 on Owensboro's west end and milepoint 23.44 near Hawes Boulevard at the Hawesway Truckstop.

There are about 20 signs on the bypass that will need to be replaced and the Cabinet wants to remind us that the speed limit will be 55 until the signs are officially replaced.
