Carpet One Floor & Home of Owensboro is proud to give back to those who have given their service to our country. Yesterday, they were honored with a shadowbox containing steel from Ground Zero. Carpet One is a proud contributor to the Building for America's Bravest, which provides smart homes for veterans who have been severely injured or disabled.

John Turkus, a retired New York City firefighter, presented Mark and Ettagene Hayden and their staff with a specially designed shadow box to be displayed in the store. The shadow box was a gift for their support of donations and installing floors into the hi-tech smart homes.

Both the Owensboro Fire Department and the Daviess County Fire Department were on hand for the event.

Carpet One, on Salem Drive, is currently accepting donations toward America's Bravest. They are encouraging the community to stop by the store and donate $10, and Carpet One will match your donation. They will be taking donations thru the end of December.
