When the National Archery in the Schools (NASP) All-Star Championship convenes in South Africa next month, one Castle Middle School student will be there to represent not only the Tri-State area, but the United States as a whole.

Ashlie Garrison will make the over 18 hour flight to Johannesburg to compete against other archers from countries around the world including Canada, South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe as one of the youngest competitors in the field.

According to an interview with 14 News, Ashlie took an interest in the sport age the age of eight then joined the Castle Middle School team as soon as she could.

How good is she? Good enough to place first in overall female in last month's Nationals which punched her ticket to the tournament in South Africa.

Ashlie's family is currently accepting donations to help fund the family's trip. If you're interested in helping out, donations are being accepted by the Castle North Middle School (CNMS) Archery Team.
