Here’s another beautiful way to help the Emma Ford Foundation. There’s a benefit for Jason Chambers and his family at Bryan Lake at the Barn to raise money and collect coloring and story books on Sunday, September 25th from 1-8 pm.

This is Jason's 4th time being diagnosed with cancer and he does everything in his power for children in need. There will be live music, food, fellowship and fun for the whole family! They’ll be raising money for the Chambers family and collecting coloring and story books for the children’s hospital in Lexington via The Emma Ford Foundation.

Here's more about Emma and the Emma Ford mission:

When sweet little Emma was in the hospital battling cancer she loved to color. It was something that brought a smile to her face during the treatments, the pain and the long hospital stays.

Emma was such a little fighter and gained her angel wings a few years ago, but for her birthday each year this tradition has been a way to honor her memory. She would be 8 years old on September 4th and I think this is a wonderful way to honor her memory and help other children in the same situation by donating coloring books and crayons and helping their hospital stay be brighter. Our thoughts and prayers are with Steve and Amy Ford as birthdays and anniversaries are so hard. Just know that in her memory donating is the least that we can do as a community.

You can drop off coloring books & crayons to the WBKR Studios on Frederica St or the Community Health Center in Greenville through the end of September. Steve and Amy will deliver the coloring books & crayons to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville TN, in honor of Emma. I can just see the smiles on all of the children's faces when they walk through the hospital doors!
