Kroger-brand spices--and not the odd ones--are the focus of a sweeping recall across the South and Midwest, including portions of Kentucky and Indiana.

If you have purchased Kroger Ground Cinnamon, Kroger Garlic Powder, Kroger Coarse Ground Black Pepper and Kroger Bac'n Buds, you might be getting a notification from the Kroger people after a sample of the garlic powder purchased in South Carolina tested positive for salmonella.

Of course, the good news is that no illnesses have been reported in connection with the use of these products, but Kroger isn't taking any chances.

That's why it's issuing the massive recall and initiating its customer recall notification system.

Now there's a good chance that you may not have any of these spices since the expiration dates on the affected products are all in May.

But, then again, people tend to keep spices around for quite a while since it's no one really goes through them very fast, so I'd look if I were you.
