Crossroads Christian Church Pastor David Rinehart, Mother Ruth Ann, and Daughter Sophie – Funeral Information
How do you start a blog like this? I've been asking myself that question since Sunday. I knew had to write something but I didn't have the words.
Sunday morning, I walked into Crossroads Christian Church in Newburgh and I couldn't help but notice the tears flowing. The news that followed just seemed unreal. Early that morning, three members of the Rinehart family left this world and began their journey into the next, leaving behind so many broken hearts.
I had listened many a Sunday, Easter, and Christmas to the astounding voices of David Rinehart, Crossroads' Worship Leader, and his daughter, Sophie Rinehart, as well as his mother, Ruth Ann's in the Crossroads Choir. This music never became complacent background noise - it was like a porthole to Heaven. It stirred your soul and gave a voice to every emotion you felt.
The family's connection, not only to the community, but the missionary work they did around the world, was unparalleled and the loss of this family has left a gaping hole.
The family was blessed with phenomenal musical talent that they shared freely. Sophie has been described as a star but never saw herself as that. Ruth Ann was a very special teacher who cared deeply for her family and all those who she encountered. And, David lived his life as a walk of worship. He was the adult choir leader and worship pastor at Crossroads, and dreamt of the success of the Crossroads Worship Arts Academy so others could find as much happiness in praising God through art as he did.
The outpouring of memories and grief over this loss is overwhelming not only to the Newburgh community but around the globe. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Rinehart family.
