When I got to D&P Auto Sales in Muhlenberg County on Friday afternoon, they told me to go outside and see what's underneath the styrofoam cup.
So I did...

I had never seen one of these things before, but I'm told that, despite their status as endangered (or maybe just rare), they kind of proliferate in Muhlenberg County.

And, by the way, judging by what I saw on the University of Kentucky's entomology website, this particular stag beetle is an ELEPHANT stag beetle.

And, guess what?

It can FLY!

How'd you like THAT sucker to hit your windshield?
