The Daviess County Public Library is currently collecting vintage video footage from folks around Owensboro for a virtual stroll down memory lane.  And, Rick Miller shared this amazing footage of parade in downtown Owensboro.  Thousands and thousands of people came to the Free Bridge Festival to celebrate the lift of the 35 cent toll on the Owensboro Bridge.  Check this out.  It's nostalgic, fun and a tribute to vintage Owensboro, Kentucky!

Rick Miller shared this footage, which was filmed on 8mm by Clarence Raines of Raines Shoe Hospital.  The parade took place on August 18th, 1954 and the crowd size was estimated between 22,000 and 25,000 people.

Thanks to the Daviess County Public Library and Rick Miller for this amazing stroll down memory lane!
