The Owensboro Police Department will be out in force again this year as part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s annual “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign on drunk driving.  The campaign runs through Labor Day Weekend.

If you plan to drink then plan to have a designated driver prepared. It’s always better to have the plan before you leave the house to be sure all are in agreement. If for some reason the plan falls through then call a taxi or have a safe Plan B. So important to be sure your family and friends are safe this holiday season and ALWAYS!

The campaign is supported by national paid advertising, and along with local high visibility efforts, they hope to create a comprehensive campaign to curb drunk driving. The Owensboro Police Department will also be conducting a traffic safety checkpoint during this enforcement period.

Police are warning drivers to drive sober or get pulled over!
