Eastbound Traffic Restriction on 54/E. Parrish Near By-pass begins Tuesday May 8

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict eastbound traffic on KY 54/East Parrish Avenue in Owensboro on Tuesday, May 8, 2012.

The lane restriction is to allow construction of a right-turn lane on KY 54 at mile point 2.39 to mile point 2.47.  This is along KY 54/East Parrish Avenue just east of the intersection with US 60/The Wendell Ford Expressway.

To facilitate this work, eastbound traffic on KY 54 will be moved to the left-hand or passing lane in this work zone.

Preliminary work is expected to start at this site on Monday, May 7th, with the lane restriction expected to be in place on Tuesday, May 8th, to allow the start of construction.

Caution is required in the work zone where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel will be working in close proximity to traffic flow.

Yager Materials is the prime contractor on this $151,398 highway improvement project.  The expected completion date is May 30, 2012.
