The Evansville Otters will welcome home Evansville native and two-time Olympic gold medalist, Lilly King, with an appearance at Friday night's home game against the Southern Illinois Miners at Bosse Field.

The team made the announcement Tuesday afternoon on Twitter:

Fans will have the opportunity to meet and take pictures taken with Lilly beginning at 5:30 p.m. Unfortunately, due to NCAA regulations, Lilly will not be able to sign autographs.

King made national headlines during the first few days of the Rio Olympics after expressing her opinion of Russian swimmer, Yulia Efimova, who had been banned from competing in Rio due to a failed drug test, but won an appeal of the decision just a few days before the start of the games allowing her to compete.

King followed up her comments by beating Efimova in the 100 meter breaststroke to capture her first gold medal of the games. Her secured her second gold during her final race as a member of the 4 x 1000 medley team.
