I absolutely love celebrating the 4th of July by heading to downtown Owensboro to watch our beautiful fireworks display!   Here's a list of some of the amazing shows you can take the family to this year!

1.) Celebration of the American Spirit - Owensboro

The City of Owensboro invites the region to downtown Owensboro’s riverfront to celebrate the City Bicentennial with a 200th Birthday Party during the All-American Fourth of July on Tuesday, July 4. This year the City of Owensboro and the Daviess County Fiscal Court will join together in celebration of this momentous occasion.
The annual celebration will include food vendors and live music at both McConnell Plaza and the RiverPark Center Patio throughout the evening. The Bicentennial Birthday Party will take place at 6:30pm with a signature cake marking the occasion and free cupcakes for the first 1,000 people. To cap off the evening, the skies above the Ohio River will light-up with the City’s largest fireworks display downtown with some of your favorite patriotic music at 9:15pm.

The City encourages guests to arrive early to set-up your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy an evening full of entertainment for the entire family. The Owensboro Convention Center will again be hosting 4th Fest presented by Specialty Foods Group in the exhibit hall from 4:00pm until the end of the fireworks. 4th Fest will include interactive games, activities, inflatables and food for the whole family. There are also opportunities to reserve a seat or an entire table with a buffet dinner in prime view of the fireworks on the terrace. Contact the Owensboro Convention Center for details.

The Fireworks and Evening in the Park will be Saturday July 1st.  It’s an old fashion community Independence Day Celebration, complete with summer fun games, lots of food, and a community concert by the Old Dam Band.

Fun & Food begin at 5 p.m.  The Community Concert will take place at 6 p.m. with Fireworks at 9 p.m.
