There were gatherings. There were parties. And there were just people standing in their front yards or backyards. And, because it was such an amazing learning experience, schools got in on the eclipse festivities, as well.

I had the privilege of viewing my first total solar eclipse in 38 years with kids from Owensboro Middle School's 5-6 Center.

They had a blast. I had a blast.

And before you watching a video summary of our eclipse experience, let me add that I hadn't realized that it would get noticeably cooler during totality.

Can we have an eclipse all summer long EVERY year?
