The survey, will take place Thursday through Saturday, is part of a district-wide Community Health Assessment lead by the GRDHD. The last comprehensive survey of this kind was conducted in 2015. Official surveyors will be collecting information regarding the community's perceptions on health and what can be done to make their communities healthier.

The methodology for the survey is known as Community Assessment for Public Health Emergency Response or CASPER. Other CASPER surveys were completed in Green River region in 2014, a Heath Impact Assessment in 2010, and during the 2009 ice storm. CASPER uses a double randomized sampling process to create an accurate and reliable needs assessment.

This will not be a traditional door-to-door survey, but instead it will use a random sampling process utilizing census tract data developed by the CDC. Survey teams will carry appropriate identification, drive marked health department vehicles, and will wear safety vests.

Approximately 270 households will be contacted in the counties of Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, Webster, and Union.
