It's hard to believe, but the tragedy of September 11th was fifteen years ago today.  In a way, it seems like a lifetime ago.  In other ways, it seems like yesterday. Check out this powerful 9/11 tribute.  It's called Homeward Angels and it does two important things: it reminds us of the horror of September 11th, 2001 and, even more importantly, it gives us the promise of a new day, rebirth and rebuilding.  This is tremendous and will absolutely give you chills.

I still remember exactly what I was doing when I heard the news.  I was ironing clothes and getting ready for work when my friend Traci called and told me to turn on the TV.  I did.  One tower has already been struck and just as I turned on the TV a second plane crashed into the second tower.  I honestly couldn't believe what I was seeing.  And, today, fifteen years later, it's still hard to believe.

Earlier this year, I had the chance to visit the 9/11 Memorial Museum in New York City.  As heart and gut-wrenching as it is, it's something you should experience.  It's a cliche, but it's true.  Strength rises from ashes.  The American spirit soars above tragedy.  We will never forget.  But no one, nothing, can keep our amazing nation down.  We are the land of the free and the home of the brave.
