Homeward Angels: A Powerful 9/11 Tribute [Video]

Each year at this time, I share this video.  It's called Homeward Angels and it does two important things: it reminds us of the horror of September 11th, 2001 and, even more importantly, it gives us the promise of a new day, rebirth and rebuilding.  This is tremendous and will absolutely give you chills.

I still remember exactly what I was doing when I heard the news.  I was ironing clothes and getting ready for work when Traci Davis (now our Director of Sales at WBKR) called and told me to turn on the TV.  I did.  One tower had already been struck and just as I turned on the TV a second plane crashed into the second tower.  I honestly couldn't believe what I was seeing.  And, today, seventeen years later, it's still hard to believe.

I recently had the chance to visit the 9/11 Memorial Museum in New York City.  In fact, I spend a lot of time in New York and anytime someone asks me for my "must-see recommendations" I say this.  As heart and gut-wrenching as it is, this memorial is something you should experience.  It's a cliche, but it's true.  Strength rises from ashes.  The American spirit soars above tragedy.  We will never forget.  But no one, nothing, can keep our amazing nation down.  We are the land of the free and the home of the brave.
