Disclaimer: This cat may or may not have found its way home. I had a little mommy time with he or she and I took some pictures. Meet Duncan* the Daredevil. (*temporary name)

Wednesday afternoon brought a torrential downpour in town. When I arrived home, I noticed this cat cross over into my backyard and as I approached my stairs, he/she followed me.

I have always wanted a pet of some kind. I was thinking more of a dog, but a cat may be better suited in the space I have. I decided to do what my Granny Morris would do if she found a stray cat, give it some sustenance. Yes, I assumed the role of a mother looking out for this cat. I had a little skim milk left, so I poured it out in a bowl and I waited to see what he/she would do. Well, he/she didn't lap up any of it and now I know why. I was under the impression cats liked milk/cream. Not true. It can make them very sick. In other words, cats, like humans, can be lactose intolerant. Whew! I dodged a bullet there.

Duncan* began rubbing up against all those posts on my deck and stairs, and began rubbing up against my legs. I noticed a couple of times, Duncan maybe set to jump either off my deck or do this...

Now you know why he/she is a daredevil. What is he/she doing? He/she leaped over onto the little roof by my utility room, looked around, and leaped right back onto the deck. We hung out a little longer, then as I walked inside, Duncan* settled down on to rest.

When I woke up and checked outside this morning, Duncan* was gone :( I'm definitely going to rethink getting a cat.
