I was looking to take a quick weekend trip to Louisville with my husband and want to stay somewhere unique and historic. After some research, I found the perfect place. A place that's been named the most iconic in the state, where the Kentucky Hot Brown was invented and it's located in the heart of the city!

Thrilllist.com recently named The Brown Hotel in Louisville the most iconic hotel in Kentucky and now I want to spend the weekend there to check it out for myself! If the accommodations are good enough for the likes of Harry Truman, Elizabeth Taylor and Muhammad Ali then Barb should be quite comfortable.

Based on these reviews on Trip Advisor.com I can see why The Brown Hotel has earned this distinction and it's obvious I need to stay there too!

“On a recent stay I was reminded once again why I love staying at The Brown so much... The historic building is beautiful and elegant, but the staff make the hotel stand out. Everyone is wonderful there, remembering you by name. Pat, in the concierge club truly stands out as the perfect example of this... she makes you feel pampered from minute one.”

“Beautiful hotel that is exceptionally managed. The staff is courteous and attentive. The food is beautifully presented and fresh. Here for a conference and every detail is wonderfully choreographed! Truly the place to be when in Louisville! Kudos to each and every staff member!”

Since they opened in 1923 The Brown Hotel has won many awards, hosted weddings, fed the masses in their amazing restaurants and entertained the state and beyond! I can't wait to book my trip today.

You can too. http://www.brownhotel.com/kentucky-luxury-hotel
