Jay Leno Opens His Heart and Wallet for Slain Kentucky Officer’s Widow and Son [VIDEO]

On November 6th, 2015, Richmond, Kentucky police officer Daniel Ellis was killed in the line of duty. This past Saturday, a fundraiser for his widow and son was held at St. Mark Catholic Church in Richmond. And Jay Leno was there!

I suppose Leno must have seen the story in a news feed, but other than that, I couldn't find a connection between Leno and the family.

So he just showed up out of the goodness of his heart and because he wanted to do something really nice for a family that had lost so much.

At the event, which also doubled as a fundraiser for the church, Father Jim Sichko presented Katie Ellis and her three-year-old son Luke with an all-expenses paid trip to Disney World while Leno contributed $10,000 for the boy's college fund.

As part of the fundraiser, Leno also did what he's been doing for more than 40 years--stand-up comedy.

Saturday really was a big day for big hearts and big surprises in Richmond.
