About five and a half years ago, I was visiting friends in Cleveland. On our way back from the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, we drove through suburbs to get home. We passed a house in one neighborhood that had two deer just lounging in the front yard.

Aside from the fact that there were two deer living the good life in a city SUBURB, I was thinking about how that couldn't possibly happen in Kentucky.

We are deer hunters. We don't let them just sit around in the yard.

And, boy, did Kentucky's deer hunters ever prove that in a big way in 2018.

Taking the last 15 years into account, 2018 eclipses the previous top year, 2015, by more than 1,000 dear harvested.

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources are clearly happy people today.

Honestly, I'm surprised the number IS that high. What with all the dead deer I've seen on the sides of roads after being hit, I'm glad there was enough left to go around.
