HUGE congratulations out to Chris Willis of Owensboro and Lee Dockins, who's also representing Kentucky and Team USA at the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles.  They each won medals over the weekend!

Chris snagged his first swimming medal of the Games by competing in the 4x50 meter freetsyle relay.  The Owensboro native grabbed a bronze when he and his squad finished third!  Way to go, Chris!!

And Kentucky gymnast Lee Dockins, who also has ties to Owensboro (she has been our featured speaker at the Polar Bear Plunge), was INCREDIBLE in the gymnastics event. She won THREE Gold Medals, including the Gold Medal in the all-around competition. She also won Gold in the beam and the floor exercise.

According to Special Olympics Kentucky, "it is the second consecutive World Games Gold Medal in the balance beam and all-around and third in a row for her in the floor exercise. She claimed the beam and all-around golds in 2011 in Athens and the floor exercise gold in 2007 in Shanghai."

And her medal haul didn't stop there.  Lee also won a Bronze Medal in the uneven bars and just narrowly missed the medals with a 4th place finish in the vault.

Here's video of Lee's floor exercise.  She was amazing!

Gymnast Lee Dockins completed the preliminary phase of her competition yesterday. She will compete in the finals on Saturday. Here is her floor routine from yesterday.
