Football has yet to begin, I know. And Kentucky has a real shot at a winning season and a bowl game. And I am excited about that. But there's NO WAY I'm not blogging about the release of the full 2015-2016 UK basketball schedule.

Coming off a mammoth 38-1 campaign and their fourth Final Four in five years, the 'Cats look to be a little more like the 2010-2011 group this coming season.

The non-conference schedule features quite a few big-name pops. The 'Cats take on Duke in Chicago on November 17th. They'll hit the road for their first-ever game in historic Pauley Pavilion to take on UCLA on December 3rd. On December 19th, they'll face Ohio State in Brooklyn for a rematch of that epic 2011 Sweet Sixteen tilt in which, as a 4-seed, they felled the Buckeyes, who were the overall number one seeds in that NCAA Tournament.

Of course, the annual rivalry game against Louisville always gets the biggest Sharpie circle on any UK fan's calendar. That highly-anticipated match-up happens December 26th in Rupp Arena.

And on January 30th, Kentucky will take the rare break from conference play to participate in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge, an event which will take the Wildcats into a very difficult arena--Allen Fieldhouse--for a true road game against the Kansas Jayhawks.

And speaking of conference play, Kentucky will get road games against what are arguably the four next best teams in the SEC--LSU, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, and Florida.

The 'Cats will also get the Tigers, the Gators, and Vandy at home plus play Tennessee twice for the first time in three years.
