I know that what's good for the goose isn't necessarily good for the gander, but hear me out.

My sister was a smoker for about 40 years give or take before she quit late last week.

I've known others who've quit smoking and I know how difficult the process is, despite having never been a smoker, myself.

I know there are lots of ways smokers help themselves. And what Sharon is doing is pretty cool.

In addition to using the patch, she's cut drinking straws down to the length of cigarettes and loaded them into an old cigarette box.

When she started doing that, she noticed that the air was coming through the straws too quickly. That didn't feel right.

So she stuffed her "fake smokes" with toilet paper so that she could approximate a "drag."

Now, for her it feels like smoking.

It's early yet, but, so far, it seems to be working.
