Lilly King was the fastest qualifier in the semifinals Sunday night and entered Monday's final in the lane next to controversial Russian swimmer, Yulia Efimova.  Efimova was initially banned from games, but, at the 11th hour Sunday, was granted permission to race despite multiple suspensions for banned substance usage.

Following Sunday night's semifinal heats, Lilly King called her out saying, "I'm not a fan."  And tonight, Lilly dove into the pool to let her swimming do the talking. When it was over, she stepped out of the pool an Olympic champion!  And her time was one for the history books.  Lilly's emphatic winning time was 1:04.93, an OLYMPIC RECORD!

And, some additional good news for Team USA, King's teammate Katie Meili touched the wall for Bronze!
