Weddings can be magical, right?  Well, Saturday at Reid's Orchard, one local couple took "magical" to another level.  Erin Gish and Matt Morris threw a Harry Potter-inspired wedding reception.  Check this out!

According to Erin, she and Matt have been Harry Potter fans "since the beginning."  During the early stages of wedding planning Matt asked Erin if they could do a Harry Potter theme.  Erin, of course, said, "Yes!"

Erin says she's been to so many weddings and receptions where the table decorations are all the same.  She and Matt wanted something different.  So, she started collecting all sorts of Harry Potter memorabilia- from books to figurines and more.  As Erin says, "We wanted to bring the Wizarding World to life."  As you can see, they did!

And the Harry Potter-theme actually found its way into the ceremony as well.  The officiant for the nuptials was Carolyn Greer from Owensboro High School.  She incorporated some Harry Potter quotes into the ceremony and Erin and Matt also had some classic Harry Potter mentions in their vows.

Plus, they adapted their unity sand ceremony accordingly.

They used an hourglass that closely resembles Hermione's time turner.

Erin and Matt met at Murray State University back in 2009, but didn't start dating until 2013.  After a few years together, Matt popped the big question in July of 2016 while the couple were vacationing in St. Louis.  (And, yes!  You read that correctly.  They were in St. Louis, not Hogwarts!)

They celebrated their 5th anniversary as a couple on April 26th, just two days before their wedding, which took place Saturday at Reid's Orchard here in Owensboro.

Currently, Erin and Matt are both still in graduate school, so they are planning their honeymoon for later this year.  And, you guessed it!  The new Mr. and Mrs. Morris are planning a trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando!
