I watched as much of the Louisville/North Carolina game as I could while down in Nashville. Then I had go and do other things. And when I left to go and do other things, the Tar Heels had opened the second half on a 7-0 run and were leading the Cardinals by 18.

So I figured that was as a good a time as any to leave the game. I'd watched Louisville suffer through poor shooting performances before and felt that they'd have a very difficult time overcoming an 18-point deficit.

I was quite wrong.

Looks like Rick Pitino had just simply had enough.

I've seen the box score. The Cards tied the game, got the Heels into overtime and then TOOK over, winning by ten, 78-68.

That, coupled with the Kentucky win over Alabama, Western Kentucky's road win over Southern Mississippi, and Murray State's win over UT-Martin--that makes 17 in a row for the Racers--made January 31st, 2015 a very nice day for fans of Bluegrass basketball.

Eastern Kentucky won, too, but the victory came against Morehead State, so that's kind of a draw.
