Ever since we lost our sweet Sadie, I've been keeping an eye out for a new sister for Lucy. I've been watching rescue sites and came across CoCo Chanel last week. She seemed like a perfect fit for our family after talking to Natica, her foster Mom. Her history is a bit heartbreaking. She came in to Natica's care after her human Mommy, who's older, got sick and had to go into a home to get the care she needed. Barbara, (yes, my name too!) loved CoCo so much, but obviously couldn't keep her. It broke her heart but her niece, Natica took her in until she could find CoCo the perfect family. Six months later we all found each other.

I formed an instant kinship with Natica. We talked for close to an hour on the initial call. We talked about our family, health, God and of course, little CoCo. The next day, Natica sent me a text saying to come get CoCo. She said she prayed and just knew CoCo was meant to be with us. I couldn't have agreed more. I drove that Thursday afternoon to Elizabethtown to pick her up and bring her home.

Coco is a pure bred shih tzu, female and 5 years old. She was actually born on June 19th, 2013 just 2 days after my Daddy passed away. It was meant for her to be with us.

This was a selfie from our very first meeting that day! When Chris and I first looked at this picture, we could see Sadie in her face.

The Good........She's got a sweet disposition and is simply adorable! She's also very entertaining. Since Thursday evening, we've had many firsts. She didn't know what a sliding glass door was and tried to go right on through it only to clunk her head on the glass. She was super nervous to go up the stairs. I could tell it wasn't something she was used to. That didn't last long and now I can't keep up with her! Oh, and she's super smart and listens really well too.

She loves to jump on the bed and make a mess of the pillows! I love seeing her enjoy herself so much and adapting to our home.

The Bad......There really isn't that much bad. She's had a few potty accidents on the floor, but always on a rug that I can throw into the laundry. She must be by my side ALL day which wouldn't be bad, but sometimes I'd like to use the restroom in peace! We still haven't mastered the tie-out for potty yet, but after a few trial runs CoCo has learned to potty on the leash. The first 24 hours of potty outside was rough. 4:00 in the morning and she'd rather sit on the grass then actually use it as a litter box!

Yep. CoCo literally glued to me!

The Ugly......You'd think with all of that cuteness, there couldn't be any ugly. But, oh there is! Her new nick name is Cujo CoCo. Yes, she can be a little stinker and Lucy is the recipient of her naughty side. Poor Lucy will get pounced on just for walking by. Both dogs are trying to find their way and want to be the alpha female. The problem is that Lucy doesn't really have a mean bone in her body so she doesn't do well sticking up for herself. CoCo gets the better of her until Chris or I come running to break it up. I'm very prayerful that this resolves itself soon as it is ugly indeed. Can't we all just get along!

Don't let this photo fool you. It went from, oh aren't they cute together, to full out war and Momma pulling them apart.

I think this photo says it all! I was cooking and Lucy HAD to be held. I think her face says it all. And, CoCo looking so innocent. Whatever!

Paws Town has been wonderful working with CoCo and Lucy on neutral ground. This was Friday and you would think they have become best friends! Looks are deceiving. Dayna, the owner of Paws Town is being super patient with them and feels like things will get better. I hope so and soon!
