Early this morning there was a shooting at Motel 6 in Owensboro.  The shooting left the suspect dead and no police officers hurt.  The full update is here.

Around 8pm Wednesday evening Kentucky State Police tracked a suspect involved in a joint drug investigation and that suspect was tracked to Motel 6 in Owensboro.  After several hours the suspect came out of the room and that is when the shooting began.
The suspect in this case has been identified as 38 year old Chrislon Talbott from Owensboro.
The Daviess County coroner has confirmed that the suspect involved in this case has died at the hospital.
Verbal contact was made between police outside of the room and Talbott from inside the room.  The exchange revealed there was a woman in the room with him.  Officers backed off and secured a perimeter while three trained hostage negotiators came to the scene.
After midnight the suspect came out of the room and gun fire began.  The suspect was immediately rushed to Owensboro Medical via ambulance.
