New Owensboro Basketball Team Has a Name, Still Looking for a Mascot Design

One of two new basketball teams coming to the city of Owensboro has found a name.

The National American Professional Basketball team will be known as the Kentucky Thoroughbreds. Their colors will be blue and yellow. However, the team is still on the hunt for a mascot design. The winner will receive two season tickets.

The team has also announced Brandon Lesovsky will be both the head coach and general manager. He previously coached a Canadian professional team, the Orangeville A's.

The Thoroughbreds will play their home games at the Owensboro Sportscenter. The season is set to begin on January 1st and it will run through April with the playoffs in May.
