Owensboro High School 6-9 senior Aric Holman has made a change of plans concerning his future. After previously announcing he would reclassify to 2016 and attend prep school next year, Holman has now decided to sign and play at Mississippi State, thus going straight to college. Here's Holman along with OHS head coach Rod Drake announcing his decision Thursday morning at the Sportscenter.

Holman helped lead the Red Devils to their fifth state championship this year. He made officials visits to Western Kentucky, VCU, and Xavier last fall before deciding to reclassify. He also made several visits to the University of Louisville and he probably would've considered the Cards if he had remained reclassified.

Mississippi State finished 11th in the SEC last season with a 13-19 record. The Bulldogs have a new head coach in Ben Howland, who previously coached at UCLA, Pitt, and Northern Arizona. He's one of the few Division I coaches to take three teams to the NCAA Tournament. Holman is Howland's second recruit to commit. Shooting guard Malik Newman, ranked 8th in the nation by Rivals.com, signed with the Bulldogs in April.

Drake said Holman will report to Mississippi State in a couple of weeks, but he will still play in the Kentucky All-Star series with Indiana next month.
