Owensboro Native Dr. John Murray Adams on “American Ninja Warrior” and Maloney’s Fundraiser Viewing Party Tonight [VIDEO]

"American Ninja Warrior" is in its ninth season and Owensboro Native, Dr. John Murray Adams, is trying to qualify tonight on NBC. Maloney's is getting in on the action with a fundraising viewing party and we're ALL invited!

Adams episode of "American Ninja Warrior" Denver City Qualifier will air tonight on NBC from 7-9pm. Producers have emailed all the athletes who competed to let them know that they're not notifying individuals this year if their run will be aired or not. We'll all have to watch and wait with anticipation!

Maloney's is donating 10% of food purchases to the Boulware Mission Homeless shelter for Adams and his dance partner, Jessica Hodges, who'll be dancing this season in the Owensboro Style "Dancing with Our Stars" competition. Dr. Adams let us know how he got started, "I have loved watching the show since it started airing on NBC in 2013. I watched the episodes saying to myself, "I can do that".  Year after year I would say that". Adams went on to say,  So in 2015 I decided I would start training for the ninja obstacles to see if I really could do well at this sport". Adams competed in 2016 on NBC’s "American Ninja Warrior" Season 8 in the Indianapolis City Qualifier and the Indianapolis City Finals where he just missed the cut. Here's his submission video that got it all started!
