Who remembers snow days? Who remembers the anticipation leading up to snow days? I sure do.

I remember listening to the radio at night to see if they'd cancel classes the next day, all the while wondering if I should go ahead and do my homework in case they don't OR put it off in case they don't.

Yeah, I don't recommend that last one either, now that I'm an adult.

But that was my routine.

And THEN... when we actually KNEW there'd be no classes, well, all heck broke loose and we'd play outside all day.

But if we'd had SNOW DAY CAMP back in the day, that's where I would have been.

This is so cool.

Owensboro Parks & Recreation has set up Day Camp for anytime this coming season that Owensboro Public Schools, Daviess County Public Schools, or Owensboro Catholic Schools are out for snow days.

The hours of operation will be from 7AM to 6PM and the camp will for children ages 5 to 13. If weather is bad enough that a state of emergency is declared, there will no camp scheduled.

The registration fee is $75 in advance for five pre-paid snow days.

Breakfast, morning snacks, and afternoon snacks will be provided.

Campers will, however, need to bring a sack lunch each day.

And if your child's school district misses less than five days, then $15 for every day your child's school didn't miss for snow.
