Owensboro Police Investigating a Burglary

Owensboro police are investigating a burglary that happened early Wednesday at 3:15AM in the 700 block of Sycamore Street.

Reportedly, a male suspect forced his way into an apartment brandishing a handgun. The subject demanded money, according to reports, and then left the scene after a brief altercation.

Detectives are searching for 18-year-old William Merriweather, who is a person of interest in the case.

Merriweather currently has four separate outstanding warrants for his arrest that are unrelated to this incident. They include charges of second degree burglary and first degree robbery.
