Owensboro Police Investigating Officer Involved Shooting [UPDATED]

The Owensboro Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting.

According to OPD the shooting occurred in the 500 block of Hathaway here in town.  Detectives are on scene.  Here's what we know at this time.  One Owensboro Police Officer was injured and is currently in surgery.  We do not know the extent of the injuries or how they were sustained.
