Owensboro Police Release Details About Shooting, Hit and Run

The Owensboro Police Department has released more details about this morning's shooting on the east side.

"On Friday, July 20, 2018, at approximately 8:20 a.m. the Owensboro Police
Department responded to the area of East 19th St & Alexander Avenue on a
disturbance. During an altercation in the roadway the victim sustained non-life
threatening injuries from a gunshot as well as being struck by the suspect’s
vehicle when he left t the scene. The victim was transported to the Owensboro
Health Regional Hospital for medical treatment. Officers determined a second
victim had a minor injury from also being struck by the suspect’s vehicle;
however they were treated on scene.

The suspect is described as a black male, armed with a handgun, who left the
scene in a dark colored passenger car. This case is still under investigation by
the Criminal Investigation Division of the Owensboro Police Department."

The victims are 38-year-old Chris Green and 30-year-old Brittany Swihart, both of Owensboro.
