Owensboro’s Bridge Day Returns October 1st

When they first opened up the bridge for foot traffic a few years ago, I knew this would become a tradition. What a blast!

And now Bridge Day is all set to return during the Owensboro Air Show on October 1st.

Owensboro Living reports that the bridge will close to vehicular traffic beginning at 7AM on that day.

This will make way for the Bridge Run which will be a little different this year.

The 2016 Bridge Run will be a 10-mile affair beginning at the Holiday Drive-In in Reo and ending on Veterans Boulevard.

Participants in the run will be able to park downtown then ride buses to Reo. The buses will board at the Hampton Inn and Suites.

When the run finishes--about 9AM is the estimate--the bridge will then be open to anyone who wants to walk across it until the air show begins at 1PM.
