Recently, I was chatting with our good friend, Jason Koger, about his Handing Back event and the conversation turned to the topic of movies.

Jason, who's already been in an episode of CBS' Hawaii Five-0, is an extra in the upcoming Matthew McConaughey film Free State of Jones.

The Civil War drama was filmed in Louisiana and it was interesting to hear Jason's stories from the set, mainly about the length of time shooting even a tiny scene takes and about the intense heat.

It was a summertime shoot and I know from talking to folks from the Battle of Sacramento re-enactments how bulky those Civil War outfits are.

Jason's scene takes place in a hospital but he isn't 100% sure he's actually IN the movie since it's possible his scene could have been edited out.

I hope not.

Free State of Jones will be in theatres May 13th.
