I always smiled when I saw "Scooter Joe" riding around town doing what he did best .  He was one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet and I'm so sad to hear of his passing.

I met Joe Rybicki when my husband, Joe, was director at St. Benedict's Homeless Shelter and he would come down and help out with meals and just to come to visit.  He was always thinking of others.

Chad and I had the opportunity to invite him to the Morning Show and talk with him.  He was so appreciative and what I loved hearing most when we asked why he rode his scooter how he did he said "you only live one life, I am going to enjoy it."

Let's be honest.  Some people didn't like his riding style.  What I can tell you about him is he was one of the sweetest, most considerate people I have ever met.  On Christmas this year Joe called my family to wish us a very Merry Christmas and he also called on New Year's.  He messaged me after we interviewed him to tell me how much it meant to him to be on the show.  He had a heart of gold.

I laugh when I think about him getting recognized Nationally on Tosh.O.  He was pumped and said he had us to thank!

While I didn't get to talk with him everyday or even every month for that matter I am going to miss seeing my friend around town and I am going to miss seeing posts about him on social media.

This quote by Oscar Wilde reminds me of how Joe lived his life "To live is the rarest thing in the world.  Most people just exist."

RIDE HIGH FRIEND RIDE HIGH!  Many prayers for his family~
