Sears, Kmart, JC Penny and Macy’s announced major store closings this year and now another retailer is reportedly in trouble. Are you a shoe lover like me? One major shoe retailer could be closing some stores.

Bloomberg reported that Payless will reportedly be filing for bankruptcy very soon. What will that mean for our Payless Stores in the tri-state? This seems to be uncertain. WBKR reached out for comment, with no response, so we are only left to wait and wonder. They reportedly could close 400-500 stores as it goes through the restructure.

My Mom was a HUGE Payless shopper and loved the selection and savings. They've been around since 1956 so I grew up shopping with my Mom and Sister there. Whether we needed new shoes for Easter, a wedding, church, casual or fancy, Payless had something for everyone in the family! Luckily we'll always be able to shop online at

My Mom loves their flats and in the last year of her life, as her feet were so swollen, these fit comfortably. She never knew she would love them so much and of course, we had to get them in every color. Yep. I do the same thing when I love a shoe.

Whether a casual or fancy affair, you know you can count on Payless to deliver and not break the bank.

I LOVE me a nice pair of wedges and at Payless they have such a nice selection!

They always put their own spin on stylish shoes like these sneakers.
