From Rick Santurom’s faith based run for president to current commander-in-chief Barack Obama actually invoking Jesus more than his born-again predecessor George W. Bush, we’ve been hearing a lot of religion talk over the last few years from our politicians.

According to a new survey from the Pew Forum of Religion & Public of 1,503 adults, Americans may be growing weary of this talk. Thirty-eight percent of respondents said that there has been too much expression of religious faith and prayer from our leaders, whereas 30 percent said there is too little, and 25 percent the right amount.

This is the highest percentage of respondents answering “too much” since Pew began asking the question a decade ago. While Democrats are more likely than Republicans to decry politicians who discuss religion, the poll suggests Republicans are also becoming increasingly uneasy with this type of rhetoric.
