Purdue Student and Football Superfan Tyler Trent Has Died [VIDEO]

Purdue student and superfan Tyler Trent passed away yesterday after a long hard fought battle with cancer. If you're a college football fan, you know his inspirational story.

I had tears in my eyes this morning after hearing the news that #tylerstrong passed away on New Year's Day. He touched not only my heart, but the heart of a nation. Tyler was one strong young man. Trent, who suffered from a rare form of bone cancer, took on his fight with grace and dignity all while cheering on his Purdue Boilermakers.

When we saw him at the Music City Bowl in Nashville I turned to my husband and said, Tyler looks weak and tired. My gut told me this day would be coming sooner than later. Cancer just has a way.

After watching Purdue beat Ohio State earlier in the season, I became a fan. A fan of Tyler Trent. A former Purdue University student and HUGE superfan. I'm a HUGE superfan of #tylerstrong. May you rest in peace. Your legacy will live on with everyone you've touched.
