A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is planning a traffic shift for the Audubon Parkway work zone in Henderson County on Thursday, May 24, 2012.   At this time the work zone continues to have two-way traffic running on the westbound lanes.

Starting sometime Thursday, the contractor is planning a traffic shift that will put one lane of traffic running on the eastbound lanes and one lane of traffic running on the westbound lanes.

Once traffic is shifted on Thursday, the contractor will then be completing some finish work along the work zone.

Motorists are asked to pay special attention to message boards and signage for changes in traffic flow coming on Thursday.  Appropriate caution is required in this work zone where construction equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are on the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.  A strictly enforced work zone speed limit continues to be in place.

This work zone runs along the Audubon Parkway from mile point 8.5 to the Green River Bridge at mile point 15.839, a distance of 7.3 miles.

The Harper Company of Hebron, KY is the prime contractor on this $14.9 million highway improvement project.
