Daviess County High School senior rushed to the aid of first responders and Royal Arms employees when he saw Building B of the complex engulfed in flames last Sunday.

Casey, a cadet in the DCHS Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps, applied knowledge he'd gained from his Emergency Procedures course and made himself available to do whatever he could like helping residents get to the main office of the complex or to relay messages.

And now, for his bravery and quick thinking, Kyle will be honored during an awards ceremony at 10AM on April 25th at Daviess County High's auxiliary gym.

The press release from Daviess County Public Schools goes on to say that Kyle was recommended for the honor by JROTC instructor Lt. Commander Stephen M.White, who is retired from the U.S. Navy.

Commander Merv Dial, the Area 9 JROTC manager and Rear Admiral Stephen Evans, the commander of the Naval Service Training Command approved the honor.

We send a big congratulations and THANK YOU to Cadet Seaman Kyle Casey.
