Here in Owensboro, we have already closed the doors on our Sears location.  And news is breaking that the company may shut down its stores everywhere, including multiple locations here in the WBKR listening area.

According to Bloomberg Report, Sears Holdings Corp has warned investors that there is "substantial doubt" that it will be able to continue to operate and cited a loss of over $10 billion dollars in recent years as the major cause for concern.

And, with the Owensboro location already closed, other Sears locations in the tristate face an uncertain future.  Sears currently operates locations in Henderson, Evansville and Madisonville and additional locations in other cities throughout Kentucky and Indiana.

What exactly does the future hold?  We're not certain.  Though the company seems committed to trying to salvage what it can, leaders are being blatantly honest that Sears is facing extinction.
