#TBT: A 46-Year-Old Owensboro Phone Book Resurfaces
My nephew found this and I immediately dove in. There weren't as many big ads in this old green phone book as I thought, but I captured an example of what those old things used to look like.
It's also about twice as thick as they are now, since many people have long since dispatched their home phones to the days-gone-by bin in favor of mobile phones.
I had to blur out some phone numbers for some businesses that no longer exist since those numbers might be active for residences today.
Some things I don't even remember like Black Kettle Barbecue of that Dairy Queen was once in the 1400 block of Triplett Street.
But I do remember Wellman's from way back in the day. Dad used to get Christmas ham from Wellman's.
