Here's the official movie trailer for The Duff!  "The Duff", by the way, stands for "the designated ugly fat friend."  The movie is based on a novel written by McLean County High School graduate Kody Keplinger.

CBS Films purchased the rights to Kody's novel and adapted the book for the screen.  The Duff is due in theaters in early 2015.

"I always felt like the 'ugly girl' in high school, so when I was introduced to the word during my senior year, I knew I was the Duff. The idea of writing a book with DUFF as the title started as a joke, but when I realized that my friends felt like Duffs, too, I knew I had to write this story!"

Kody actually wrote the novel during her senior year at McLean County High School here in Kentucky.  She currently lives in New York City where she writes full-time and teaches writing workshops.  She has written five novels, the latest of which is The Swift Boys and Me, which was published in May of this year!

Kody recently visited the WBKR studios (with her aunt Katie) and has promised to return when The Duff is officially released!
